The impeccable excellence of the ultra-luxury hotel One & Only Royal Mirage in Dubai is reflected in the new declination of the local symbol of hospitality and conviviality of the structure, the restaurant The Beach Bar & Grill, which in 2021 underwent a thorough restyling by the designer Marcelo Joulia (NACO studio).
An intervention that follows, in temporal terms, the refresh by the study WA International introduced in 2019 to the Celebrities Restaurant - the second dining space of the hotel supervised by Colagreco.
The combination of reinterpretations is complementary, in the style but also in the welcoming declination - more informal at the beach Bar & Grill and contemporary elegance with Celebrities - and has been studied as a key factor to anticipate an exciting 2022 season.
Colagreco, the first non-French chef to be awarded three Michelin stars, is the owner of the Mirazur Restaurant on the Côte d'Azur, named the best restaurant in the world in 2019. The chef of origins Argentine, after twenty years spent perfecting his art in France, has returned to supervise the restaurants of One & Only Royal Mirage bringing with him a South American streak that influences the atmosphere of location and the gastronomic proposal.
Arabian soul with South American veins
For The Beach Bar & Grill, designer Marcelo Joulia has chosen furnishings inspired by the relaxed and convivial lifestyle of South America: the terraces in teak wood, the table tops thick made with natural wood plates and leather elements such as the seats are a refined homage to the "return to origins" which is well linked to Colagreco's return to Dubai.
With particular attention to maintaining the refined atmosphere of the destination, in some cases recovered from the original design of the restaurant, the team of Studio NACO worked on the enhancement of the Arabian identity, as in the case of the lamps and the lighting, but also of the windows facing the beach.
Flavors and traditions at the center of the club and entertainment
Everything, at The Beach Bar & Grill, evokes Argentina by combining with the culinary proposal that celebrates the South American flavors inspired by Chef Colagreco's childhood, including the open fire grill.
And it is the show kitchen that is the strong point of the restaurant: placed in the center of the environment, it allows guests to interact with the team of Chefs while they expertly grill on the wood-fired Argentine parilla. The outdoor terrace features 124 seats arranged on four large teak terraces offering panoramic views of the resort, the new Dubai Harbor, Palm Jumeirah and Bluewater's.
Deeply distinctive traits
The wonderful checkerboard floor catches the eye as soon as you enter. The black and white motif was designed to refer to the game table placed at the entrance of the restaurant right from the opening, but also as a reference to the South American influences and lifestyle that sees chess present in many homes.
The novelty of the restyling is particularly intriguing to the eye is the red wall in the private room of the restaurant: pop and fun, it is chromatically in tune with the leather details but also the trick that gives character and further exclusivity to the environment.
Finally, it is impossible not to mention the collection of "Gaucho" knives, once again a reference to the origins of the Chef and the traditions of Argentina, where historically the "cuchillo" knife represents the most precious asset for a cowboy (or Gaucho, in argentina) and are a tool used for any need.
