The installation January, February, March - Georgia Pavilion at the 2023 Biennale - explores the relationship between the passage of time and energy

The Georgia pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2023 - January, February, March - represents the story of a place that has undergone artificial changes, located in the Dusheti region of Georgia and explores the relationship between the flow of time and energy.

The installation symbolically focuses on water tanks, their creation and their impact during political transformations and climate change.

The project starts from the following questions:

  • How temporary is our footprint on the environment?
  • When we mention the flow of energy, migration, time, what are we referring to?
  • What is the cost of interrupting a certain order to create a new one?
  • Can we consider water as the element that determines this order?
  • To what extent does the political-spatial development of human beings lead to changes in nature and society and vice versa?
  • Which physical and conceptual forms vanish and which remain with such transformations?
  • Are natural creations – with their history and memory – permanent?
  • What kind of imprint will these places leave and what is their future?
