Cristalmood

Cristalmood, conceived by antonolupi to give shape to some of his most famous creations, is a material that comes from the union between craftsmanship and technological research. In fact, the washbasins, tubs and accessories made of Cristalmood are the result of a industrial-style research but the processing that makes each product unique is artisanal. The liquid resin is manually poured into molds. and once extracted the objects must be finished by sanding and polishing.  A quite complex processing stage carried out manually in order to remove the imperfections and give brightness to the objects that are unique and unrepeatable for slight differences in color, size, and thickness or small air bubbles that can give authenticity to each of them.
The collaboration between Andrea Lupi and Gumdesign gives life to 4 new colors, inspired by the Tuscan lanscapes: Mostato, Barrique, Vespero and Notturno. Mostato is a dense red, as if not yet fermented similar to must. It tells of ripe pomegranates and scarlet flowers, and contains the shades of autumn leaves: the red of maple, the bronze of oak and ash and the purple of beech trees. As if aged in a cask, the color Barrique preserves the notes of fruity woods, vanilla and spices. It recalls the shades of the forest and autumn. Vespero takes the moment before the sun hide under the horizon: the color range goes from bright orange to brick and brown orange. Notturno, finally, contains the depth of blue and of the night darkness.
As the palette of 13 shades (Amber, Petroleum, Ginger, Ocher, Fog, Bottle, Cobalt, Lime, Sangria, Fumé, Cerulean, Oleo and Gran Cru), also the new Cristalmood_021 colors enhance the beauty of the water, giving back its leading role in the bathroom with their transparency.
Bright and brilliant as crystal and resistant as stone, Cristalmood is made of high quality polyester resin and coloring pigments. It is an anticorrosive and scratch-proof material, as well as non-toxic, restorable and recyclable. Its composition allows to create objects of about 30% lighter than those made with other solid surfaces. Its versatility allows unprecedent combinations with marble, wood or cork.
Cristalmood is used to make the washbasins part of the Ago, Albume, Opale, Senso, Vitreo, Borghi, Astro, Aura collections; the Reflex bathtub and the flower vases from the Asa, Nisi and Masa series.
