The new Volumi collection, presented by
Antoniolupi at the latest Cersaie, perfectly represents the brand’s desire to extend its style from the bathroom to the rest of the house and vice versa. A line of carpets designed by Gumdesign, Volumi is made up of twenty-five pieces with unusual shapes capable of adapting to very different environments: from the bathroom to the living room, from the entrance to the bedroom.
Taking its cue from the previous Tramato collection, of which it takes up the black&white palette, Volumi has irregular shapes on which is introduced the terracotta red, an explosive color element to animate the two-dimensional surface of the carpet, as in a sort of abstract painting. The chromatic contrasts in particular are the backbone of the project which sees vertical, horizontal and oblique lines intertwining with colored backgrounds and generating unexpected spaces and perspectives. “Geometries that chase each other in a contrast between white, black and the Antoniolupi color palette”, this is how the creative idea is summarized by the two designers of the Italian studio Gumdesign. A balance of solids and voids, of light and dark, of thin parallel or perpendicular lines that outline well-defined areas of different dimensions, enhance the optical effect that gives the surface three-dimensionality.
A place of well-being studied in the smallest details in style and decor, the bathroom shortens the distance from other domestic environments to assume the same dignity as the living area.
