Anamorphosis

With the presentation of Florae Folium, a scenography created by French designer Sam Baron, Tai Ping presents the hand-tufted carpet Anamorphosis. For this new project, Sam Baron went back to the origins of his craft: paper and pencil, pastels, chalks, brushes and colours. The mix of these techniques resulted in the three floral-inspired works: Anamorphosis, Regalis and Borealis. In each carpet the lines between watercolour and tuft, space and volume merge and take shape, thanks to the skills of the Tai Ping craftsmen who have used more than a hundred colours of thread to express all the subtle nuances of the Anamorphosis design, creating unique dreamlike compositions in which the eye is invited to lose itself by projecting the mind into an imaginary landscape.
