These soft and organic-shaped seats are the fruit of a collaboration between Philippe Nigro, ARC-Atelier de Recherche et de Création of Mobilier National and Ligne Roset. The name they have chosen, Hémicycle, alludes to the semicircle shape, conveying enveloping comfort. The designer is interested in the casing of the furniture and suggests a scale superposition system that make up the backrest. The building principle allows for formal variations and various chromatic compositions. Philippe Nigro updates a forgotten type of furniture: the conversation seat, emblematic Second French Empire seat allowing two people to talk without having to turn their heads. These seats’ flexible shapes hide a metallic netting structure designed by the ARC. As for Ligne Roset, the contributed with their filling expertise, with a combination of high resilience foam and wire springs.
