Brace by Tatehiko

Brace is a furniture line, consisting of coffee table, side table and bookcase, by designer Takeda Katsuya, crafted by the brand Tatehiko. The structure is very light, elegant, and functional, with diagonal lines for a multitude of configurations, dimensions, and applications. The result is the use of techniques such as ‘carving, joining, turning, joining, and assembling’ passed down by four generations that valorize and utilize sustainable local forest resources. With strong aesthetics appeal, it is crafted from the prestigious Hinoki cypress wood. The joints are made using a traditional Japanese architectural technique (Shiguchi) that utilizes steel to ensure strength despite the slender structures. Brace presents itself in a light and serene tone with brass joints, inspired by the deities of the forests of Tochigi.
