Catifa Carta is the evolution of Catifa 53, designed in 2001 and the first Arper product to obtain environmental certification. Catifa Carta, a project that pushes the brand's vision of environmental and global responsibility into the future, is made of PaperShell, an innovative material derived from wood production waste. PaperShell is the result of advanced scientific research and introduces an innovative process that aims to address climate challenges in a revolutionary way. Catifa Carta's shell, composed of 29 sheets of kraft paper held together by natural resin, reduces the product's environmental impact by retaining carbon dioxide. Catifa Carta is a true example of circular sustainability, providing a virtuous end-of-life for the product: thanks to its total disassembly, the PaperShell shell is transformed, through a pyrolysis process, into biochar: a substance with a high carbon content that enriches the soil and thus supports biodiversity.
