The fascination of reclaimed materials conveying memories and traditions is expressed in the Jeko sofa, designed by Paola Navone for Gervasoni. Like the other products of the namesake collection, it has a structure made of ECOTeak, which comes from reclaimed teak beams and other elements recovered from the demolition, authorized by the local authorities, of traditional wooden houses on the island of Java, Indonesia. The timber recovered is cut to size, repaired with recycled wood, assembled and sanded to highlight the original veining. The final finish involves hand polishing with hemp cloths and wood shavings.
The seat cushion and the back, with fully removable covers, are padded with polyurethane. Perfect waterproofing of the padding is ensured by coating it with polyester linings, treated with specific waterproof and water-repellent products. Jeko measures 128x128hx80/42 cm. The soft lines, completed by fluffy and enveloping cushions, give the outdoor furniture the atmosphere of faraway places filled with magic. It will create corners of relaxation suspended in time
